Lefebre Hoodie Silent Auction - Relisting!

For those of you in the "Lefebre Army" that missed out on bidding on FLW Pro Dave Lefebre's autographed 2010 Chevy hoodie two weeks ago, we have some good news! We are relisting it in another silent auction. Please note that this auction WILL NOT be run through EBay. If interested in bidding, the following are some simple auction instructions:

• Interested bidders should submit their bid via email to: jerseysforstjude@hotmail.com from now until Sunday, April 24 at 8:00PM EST. Simply state your name and your bid amount. Your bid will not be announced at any point during the auction.
• After submitting a bid, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that the email will not state whether you are the current high bid or not, so please bid the maximum amount that you are willing to pay for the hoodie. The highest submitted bid at the conclusion of the auction will be awarded Dave's autographed hoodie and trading card.
• Payment for Dave's hoodie will be made through the St. Jude donation website link that will be provided to the winning bidder at the conclusion of the auction.
• Lastly, remember 100% of your bid will be donated to benefit a very worthy cause - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!

2011 Bassmaster Classic 3rd Place finisher Derek Remitz' autographed jersey and trading card have been added to the jersey auctions this week. Remitz has won his first Elite Series tournament en route to claiming the B.A.S.S. Rookie of the Year title. Remitz' jersey is one of the most recognizable on the Elite Series tour. 2011 Bassmaster Classic Kevin VanDam's autographed tournament jersey will be up for auction to highlight the final week of the Jerseys for St. Jude fundraising drive. 100% of the funds raised will through the auction will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Elite Series rookie, Jonathon VanDam will join his uncle this week on the jersey auction block. In addition to the VanDam duo, jerseys from FLW pro Jim Moynagh, WBT all-time leading money winner Pam Martin-Wells, and a gift certificate for a Rayjus Outdoors hoodie will be listed.

Lefebre jersey sells for $1,130!

Superbowl Sunday marked the end of Week 2 of the Jerseys for St. Jude auctions. Of note, FLW Pro Dave Lefebre's 2010 Team Chevy jersey was up for sale. For anyone that knows Dave, he has a huge following of fans (arguably, one of the largest in the sport) and keeps connected with them through Facebook and other social media outlets. A couple hours prior to the end of the jersey auction, he encouraged and challenged his Facebook fans to increase the bid amount. One of his posts joked, "Come on, don't make me buy this!" Shortly thereafter, he posted that he would take a fan on a fishing trip if the winning bid amount eclipsed $1000. When the auction came to a close, a glitch in EBay capped the top bid at $250.50, upon which the winner's name and bid amount was announced on Dave's Facebook page. Almost immediately, Dave received messages from some fans stating that they had bid far more than the winning amount. Among those concerned fans was the winning bidder, Lealand Hansford of Oxford, PA. Hansford contacted Dave and told him that he actually entered a maximum bid amount of $1,130 and was disappointed to see that the bid was not raised higher in the closing seconds so that he could have won a fishing trip, too. Dave told Hansford that he would still provide a trip if he would donate the difference between his winning and maximum bid amounts to St. Jude. Without hesitation, Hansford agreed.

This story is proof of what great PEOPLE (both anglers and fans) there are in this sport! Without their help, organizations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would not be as successful as they are today...
